A&M Sports Academy’s Leadership Development seminars were developed to give our young student athletes exposure to professionals who will speak to them about the realities of life and how to manage the many obstacles they may face as they mature. These seminars will provide our student athletes a different perspective on life as the guest speakers will have diverse professional backgrounds and experiences. These “down to earth” talks will not only impact the athletes’ performance on the court, they will also positively impact the student athletes’ character off the court.

Meet ELI
Elijah “The Book of Eli” Frater, a fourteen year old boy from Brooklyn, NY started training with the A&M Sports Academy program as a Freshman at Trevor Day High School. Eli, although unrefined, remained intent on building his skill set and exhibited immense raw talent as a student-athlete. Underneath the guidance and training of the A&M program, Eli not only became an outstanding basketball player but also an exceptional leader.
Commuting to the city at 4:30 a.m. for morning training sessions with Coach Dre while simultaneously maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A, his drive and determination were second to none. Eli’s insatiable desire to be the best put him in Elite company, and he became a 1,000 point scorer, MVP of his league, and received All State Honors all while in high school. Following his secondary education, Eli continued his basketball career in college, accepting a merit scholarship to the NESCAC Conference where he played for Bates College. Bates affectionally called “The Little Ivy” was an arduous journey, but Eli sustained his leadership role on the Bates Basketball team while Majoring in Economics and Minoring in African American Studies with a 3.2 G.P.A. Throughout his tertiary education, Eli was always two steps ahead and focused on perpetuating his love for the game of basketball. Later, upon the completion of his degree, Eli’s passion for the game prompted him to begin working for the Milwaukee Bucks organization as an intern, and he became a champion in 2021, helping the Bucks organization achieve its second NBA Championship.
Eli Frater’s story is one that articulates that no matter the trials and tribulations ahead, one can achieve anything.
